Federal Courthouse Communications Infrastructure
In conjunction with multiple architectural firms, TALA provided communications infrastructure consulting and design for a new five (5) story courthouse to be constructed for the General Services Administration (GSA). TALA provided conceptual through physical design for the Low-Voltage and Telecommunications conduit and pathways as well as interconnection pathways for services from the regulated telephone carrier. The 311,000 square foot building will be built using a unique design incorporating raised flooring pathways for nearly all floors. Due to the unique design and building structure, TALA worked closely with the project Architects, Electrical Engineers and Voice and Data cabling designers to ensure proper horizontal and vertical pathway routing and sizing to meet compatibility and compliance requirements. TALA provided a successful design fulfilling Agency requirements including pathway redundancy and closet layout. During and throughout the design process, TALA produced Auto CAD drawings formatted to comply with project requirements and provided written specifications for inclusion in the overall project specification manual.
Civic Center Complex Technology and Security Design
The project consisted of essentially five different facilities including a facility of 1 million square feet of exhibition space, a 771 room hotel, a 10 story office complex, Sports Hall of Fame and parking decks. TALA served as the single point of contact for all telecommunications and technology systems (voice, data, video production, security cameras, distance learning, CCTV, Point of Sale, and cabling), and in this capacity, worked with 5 different architects, managed 35 different vendors and wrote over 50 RFPs. The project was brought in both on time and under budget.
County Courthouse Video Arraignment and Infrastructure Design
This project consisted of the phased replacement of eight buildings’ (County Courthouse, North Annex, Criminal Justice Center and five others) antiquated telecommunications wiring system. Additional scopes of work included a relocation of client data center, design and implementation of video arraignment and conferencing, help desk services and design consultation on the modifications to the security control room and console. The eight floor County Courthouse was renovated two floors at a time. To allow continued productivity during this complicated undertaking, telecommunications for the six floors not under construction were maintained while two floors of displaced workers operated out of a temporary facility.
International Airport – County Aviation Authority Infrastructure Assessment and Documentation
TALA teaming with a local infrastructure company provided onsite hands-on project management for teams of resources that designed and conducted documentation of the wiring, telecommunications/technology rooms, and pathways. The scope of the project included of verification of existing system/network cabling, tone and tagging and labeling. All collected data was entered into a structured database and placed on AutoCAD drawings.
